EVIDENCE LAW CLINIC: A WELL RESEARCHED PRACTICE BOOK ON EVIDENCE LAW & PRACTICE IN NIGERIA

The book, Evidence Law Clinic is a product of painstaking research in an attempt to bring to fore the interpretations, principles, rules of evidence and cases decided in the application of the Evidence Act. The book, no doubt will serve as a quick reference tool when confronted with the need to state principles or cite supporting authorities.
The book which is designed in a user-friendly manner, is a hybrid of settled and novel principles. It contains all the sections of the Evidence Act, 2011 supported with relevant judicial pronouncements. It gives the reader a systematic guide to understanding the principles of evidence through the cases. It is my strong belief that the book will be a veritable legal tool for law students, law lecturers, and members of the Bar and Bench-both high and low and all those entrusted with the mandate to dispense justice.

I am further convinced that for the legal practitioner, it is an indispensable material as it contains several principles and cases on the Law of Evidence that the practitioner would be confronted with within and outside the courtroom. It would be of immense assistance to the practitioner during trial preparation and when faced with instant need to cite authorities to buttress his submission. For the judges, it would be a useful reference that could aid in delivering bench rulings without the necessity for adjournments during trial.

The need to have a firm understanding of the principles and rules of evidence cannot be overemphasized. Because of the centrality of evidence in litigation, there is the need to highlight the various principles and decided cases in order to enable counsel conduct their cases armed with these principles.

That is exactly what the learned author of EVIDENCE LAW CLINIC has done.
