Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Onwe hails from Agubata in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
He received his early education at Presbyterian Secondary School (PRESCO), Abakaliki. Thereafter, he proceeded to the United Kingdom where he obtained a Law Degree (LLB with Honours) from the world-famous London School of Economics and Political Science, being only the 3rd Nigerian ever to bag a Law degree from that prestigious institution – the first being Justice Akinola Aguda. He later embaked on postgraduate Students at University College London where he obtained LLM with a Distinction in public international Law. He crested the wave of his academic career by obtaining a PhD from the University of London and wrote his thesis on the Jurisprudence of the International Criminal Court.
Senator Onwe was trained as a Barrister at the Inns of Court School of Law in England where he was rate Outstanding in Legal Drafting, Advanced Criminal Litigation, Legal Research and Advocacy. He competed for and won the highly competitive Sir Thomas More Scholarship, becoming the first and only Sir Thomas More Scholar from the African continent. He was rewarded with a post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Specialist Legal Skills by the City University London.
Following his call to the English Bar by the Honourable Society of LincoIn’s Inn, Senator Onwe become a Barrister of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and enjoyed a lucrative legal career in the Middle Temple, London. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). He represented Ebonyi Central Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from July 2010 to January 2011.
In December, 2015, he was nominated by the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, for the maiden Ebonyi State Merit Award for his outstanding performance in the Executive Council of Executive Council of Ebonyi State.
Distinguished Senator Onwe is a prolific writer and is the author of the explosive and bestselling Serpents and Doves, a widely published newspaper Columnist; a Philanthropist under whose auspices several Nigerians are enjoying expensive scholarship.
Peter Ndubuisi Akpu is a Business Strategist, a philomath, a critical thinker and Public Affairs Analyst; studied Law differently at the Ebonyi State University and the Nigerian Law School.
